My gal likes to sleep :)
I wanted to try another version of this sketch using some retro colors. Used the Procreate app.
I site I see often. Lewis sleeping on Gloria. Yes. His pillow... my wife.
This was drawn from life, after dinner, watching Gloria tipping and tapping on her laptop. I was just trying to capture some volumes of color and not really worrying about anything else. I used Sketch Club and my Sensu Brush.
A sketch of Izze assisting Gloria with her daily crossword puzzle.
Quick sketch of Gloria while we sit and talk about our day with each other. Ok, it’s sort of a scary portrait but she is pretty tired.
Trying another version of this one. Gloria looks cute and happier, Izze looks kind of odd. But, she is wearing glasses after all.
I was playing around tonight in Sketchbook Ink, using a photo of Izze (cat) and Gloria (wife) as reference. So there were some fun things I liked about it and on another version that is more simplified.
Gloria commented to me the other day that if one were to assess her life through my blog they would summize that she slept a lot and usually with a cat on her.
Little sleeping Gloria nestled in pillowland.
Sitting and talking with Gloria late in the evening and thought I could get a sketch of her. She dozed off and kept moving around. Oh well.
While I like the quality of the sketch here, Gloria looks a bit like Jabba the Hut using an iPhone in this drawing (I mentioned this to Gloria and, well, wished I hadn’t :). Of course, in reality she looks nothing like the Hut….
Just laying down resting the dogs. And the sore finger. And the brain (not shown).
Gloria has been a bit distracted lately. She has had a couple of ‘whoops’ with a knife in the kitchen. We enjoyed the Olympic closing ceremony while sitting in the ER.
Gloria is back from her trip and I found her sound asleep in the darkness of our bedroom. I thought I would try doing a painting in the dark of her.
Sam is soooo close to passing Gloria in height!
My wonderful and lovely wife Gloria celebrates her birthday tomorrow (which explains the dazed look on her face in this painting). Happy Birthday! (she looks like she is 30 ;)
Bare feet, blue jeans, the dappled light of a Sunday morning… it is so nice to hang out and visit, and look at your sweet heart’s feet :)
Two versions of the same image. The top was painted with art rage and the lower with procreate.
Gloria tippy tapping away on her computer.
I gave Gloria some pillows that are big scrabble tiles, you can see what they spell... she has been napping quite a bit since receiving them. They are very powerful, even for low scoring tiles.
We went for some family portraits at Bill studio the other day. My father-in-law snapped a photo of Gloria and I on his iphone, hence this daily painting.
Gloria sitting and knitting in the bedroom, by the heater, listening to Planet Money. She’s so sweet...
Gloria reading, Lewis sleeping, and Sam looking off in the distance envisioning worlds unknown. Nothing beats being snuggled up with loved ones.
Lewis pretty much has his way at our house. He gets attention when he demands it, gets a new resting spot even if his sister is already there. You know the drill. His favorite spot is probably Gloria, when she is reading or just dozing off. The additional weight he has put on can be somewhat surprising when he gets into position (as in knock the wind out of you).
The cats adore Gloria. Rightly so :)
